A groom usually wears a tuxedo or a 3-piece suit, groomsmen match or coordinate with him, and guests wear a regular suit. Bohorad's wedding collection has 48 options from $130 to $500, including 8 black tuxedos and 3-piece suits in wool and stretch fabrics.

Tuxedo or 3-piece suit for the groom?

An evening black-tie wedding calls for a tuxedo with a satin or grosgrain lapel, black bow tie, plain white shirt and no belt; see all black tuxedos. A 3-piece suit adds a matching waistcoat, so the groom still looks finished after the jacket comes off. We carry 3-piece suits in solid black, green and blue wool, several with peak lapels, and in purple, brown and blue plaid.

How do I dress the groomsmen?

Pick one suit and have every groomsman order it in his own size, or keep the color the same and let the fit differ. Slim fit suits lean builds, and classic fit, with a fuller chest and straight leg, suits broader men. The herringbone stretch 3-piece suits in sage green, lavender purple and blue are slim fit with notch lapels.

Each man orders by chest and length: 40R is a 40-inch chest in Regular length for 5'8" to 6', Short is under 5'8", and Long is over 6'. Between two sizes, take the larger chest.

When should we order wedding suits?

  • Orders leave the shop in 1 to 2 business days, then take 3 to 7 business days in transit.
  • Trousers on suits are hemmed free before shipping: add each man's inseam, or height and shoe size, to the order notes.
  • Sleeves, waists and other alterations are done in store at 6 N Centre St, Pottsville, PA.
  • Returns are accepted for 30 days from delivery when unworn and unaltered; hemmed trousers cannot be returned for a wrong size.

Leave time for a size exchange: reorder the right size and send the first one back. Finish the look with black or brown leather oxford dress shoes.

Wedding Suits & 3-Piece FAQ

What should the groom wear versus the groomsmen?

The groom often wears a tuxedo or a 3-piece suit, while groomsmen wear the same suit or a coordinating one in the same color. Bohorad's wedding collection has 48 suits, 3-piece suits and tuxedos from $130 to $500.

What is a 3-piece suit?

A 3-piece suit is a jacket, trousers and a matching waistcoat, or vest. Bohorad's carries 3-piece wedding suits in solid black, green and blue wool, plaids, and slim fit herringbone stretch fabrics.

Is a peak lapel or notch lapel better for a wedding?

A peak lapel points up toward the shoulder and reads more formal, while a notch lapel is the standard business suit lapel. Both are worn at weddings, and Bohorad's stocks 3-piece suits with each.

What should a man wear as a wedding guest?

A wedding guest wears a regular suit in navy, gray or another solid or subtle pattern, unless the invitation says black tie. For a black-tie wedding, guests wear a tuxedo with a black bow tie and plain white shirt.

How early should I order a wedding suit?

Allow at least 9 business days for delivery, since orders leave the shop in 1 to 2 business days and spend 3 to 7 in transit. Add more time for a possible size exchange or in-store alterations.

Does Bohorad's rent wedding suits or tuxedos?

No, Bohorad's sells wedding suits and tuxedos and does not offer rentals. Suit trousers are hemmed free before shipping when the inseam is added to the order notes.
